Orientation 2025: ITDS Welcomes New Students

The Department of Information Technology and Decision Science (ITDS) at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has held an orientation program for first-year students admitted into the department. The orientation program offered students the opportunity to learn about the academic programs run by the department and to engage formally with faculty members. It allowed students to connect with the co-curricular resources available to support their success. Over a thousand freshmen admitted to pursue various programs in the department gained firsthand experience with academic requirements, course offerings, registration procedures, and academic support resources. Welcoming the students, the Head of Department (HoD) for ITDS, Prof. Peter Appiahene, outlined the department's expectations for freshmen and what it means to be a member of the department, both inside and outside the classroom. Prof. Appiahene noted that the orientation is aimed at developing students' sense of belonging by connecting them with faculty, staff, academic advisors, and other students.
