ITDS Showcases Student Solutions at TECH IN GHANA – Royal Edition

The Information Technology and Decision Sciences (ITDS) Department is proud to announce its successful participation in the TECH IN GHANA – Royal Edition event, which took place at the Jubilee Hall, Manhyia Palace, Kumasi.

As part of the program, the Head of Department, Prof. Peter Appiahene, delivered a powerful presentation on an upcoming research project titled “Harnessing Large Language Models for Longitudinal Analysis of Policy Priorities and Traditional Sentiment in Ghanaian Parliamentary Hansards.” The primary objective of this project is to develop a robust, AI-driven analytical pipeline that will digitize, process, and analyze Ghanaian parliamentary Hansards to reveal long-term shifts in policy priorities and examine how these align with traditional public sentiment. This initiative reflects the department’s strong commitment to cutting-edge research and the application of artificial intelligence for national development.

Additionally, our students proudly showcased innovative systems they have developed, including UniTrade and an E-commerce Management System designed for the university student body. These platforms aim to make it easier for students to locate sellers of items they need and connect efficiently within the campus community. The ITDS Department’s participation at this prestigious national event highlighted our dedication to innovation, research excellence, and practical technological solutions for real-world challenges.
