The UENR Tech Fair 2026 Media Engagement was held on Friday, 19th June 2026, at the RCEES Auditorium as part of the activities leading to the 5th Edition of the UENR Tech Fair. The event was organized under the theme, “Code Around the Clock: Equipping the Youth with Digital Skills to Build a Resilient 24-Hour Economy.” It brought together members of the media, university officials, students, industry partners, sponsors and members of the Tech Fair organising team to create public awareness and provide detailed information about the upcoming main event scheduled for 26th June 2026. The programme began with the arrival and seating of guests, followed by an opening prayer and a welcome address delivered by Dr. A. A. Anokye, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences.
Mr. Jacob Mensah, Chairman of the UENR Tech Fair 2026 Organizing Committee, explained the purpose of the media engagement and highlighted the importance of the media in promoting innovation, technology and youth development. Prof. Peter Appiahene, Head of the Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences and Tech Fair Convener, presented an overview of the UENR Tech Fair 2026, including the key activities, expected personalities and sponsors supporting the programme. The Tech Fair 2026 Media Team also unveiled the official Tech Fair website and social media platforms, which will serve as important channels for sharing information, updates and highlights of the event. An industry partner delivered remarks, while the ITS President, Mr. Vincent Opoku, addressed participants on the role of students in supporting and participating in the Tech Fair.
The engagement also featured a showcase of previous editions of the UENR Tech Fair through videos and presentation slides, giving participants an appreciation of the growth and impact of the event over the years. Mr. Emmanuel Amful delivered a partner and sponsor briefing and called on organisations and individuals to support the initiative. The media questions and open forum provided an opportunity for journalists and participants to seek clarification and engage with members of the organising team. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, closing remarks by Dr. S. O. Frimpong, group photographs, media interviews, networking and light refreshments. The engagement successfully generated public interest and strengthened stakeholder support ahead of the main UENR Tech Fair 2026 event.
