This project describes a study initiated to design and develop EduLearn, an android-based mobile application aimed at serving as a supplement to the learning process of primary school students. EduLearn is a product designed to deliver a curriculum-based interactive learning content in three main subjects, Math, Science and English. The app provides an open range of dynamic learning content such as interactive lessons, interactive quizzes and educational games on an interface that is child-friendly in reducing the complexity of use and maintaining child interest. It also has the facility of progress tracking to help track the performance of the pupils and gaps in the learning process. The app was developed based on the Android-based development environment following a user-centered creation process to ensure it responds to the interests of both the educators and learners. Testing with primary pupils and teachers pointed to increased engagement and understanding, so mobile technology has great power to modernize how foundational education is taught and received. EduLearn is an effort to bring early-childhood learning into the 21st century with forward-looking digital tools.
Research Area
Mobile App Development: Mobile App Development research in Computer Science and Information Technology focuses on the design, development, and optimization of software applications for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. This area covers a wide range of topics, including user interface design, cross-platform development, mobile operating systems, performance optimization, and security.
One key aspect of research in this area is the development of efficient algorithms and frameworks that enable seamless cross-platform compatibility. Researchers explore ways to create apps that function smoothly on multiple operating systems, such as Android and iOS, using a single codebase, reducing development time and costs. This is often achieved through the use of frameworks like React Native, Flutter, and Xamarin.
User experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design are critical components of mobile app development research. Scholars in this field investigate how to create intuitive, responsive, and engaging interfaces that improve usability and enhance the overall user experience. This includes studying interaction patterns, accessibility, and how users interact with mobile apps across different devices and environments.
Project Main Objective
The general objective of this project is to design and develop an EduLearn mobile application specifically for upper primary pupil.
