The Seventh-Day Adventists Hospital Welfare Scheme has a considerable number of members who pay their contributions to the committee. These payments are collected by the cashier and receipts are issued. The information of the members is then recorded into a booklet. Individuals who wish to make claims come to the cashier to check for their eligibility. Even records of those who have made claims are not properly kept and sometimes amended. This rose an eyebrow since transparency is broken in this committee. Against this backdrop, this project proposes developing a database system that enables the committee manage contributions, benefits administration, leave management, and members assistance programs. With the use of proper, interviews, observation, and document reviews, data was collected from project stakeholders and analyzed. Data flow diagrams and Entity relationship diagrams were used to accomplish system analysis and design. The system was implemented using Visual Studio, Windows Forms, VB.Net and MySQL database server and system testing and validation were done by allowing users of the system to interact with it using test data. Findings showed that all the executives and regular members were unsatisfied with the current mode of managing the monitory affairs of the committee and agreed that a welfare database management system could improve all their transactions. The result of the project was, AidBridge: Welfare Management System which, when implemented, can help provide ease of the long-endured menaces of the current modes of managing the SDA Hospital Welfare Scheme.
Research Area
Mobile App Development: Mobile App Development research in Computer Science and Information Technology focuses on the design, development, and optimization of software applications for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. This area covers a wide range of topics, including user interface design, cross-platform development, mobile operating systems, performance optimization, and security.
One key aspect of research in this area is the development of efficient algorithms and frameworks that enable seamless cross-platform compatibility. Researchers explore ways to create apps that function smoothly on multiple operating systems, such as Android and iOS, using a single codebase, reducing development time and costs. This is often achieved through the use of frameworks like React Native, Flutter, and Xamarin.
User experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design are critical components of mobile app development research. Scholars in this field investigate how to create intuitive, responsive, and engaging interfaces that improve usability and enhance the overall user experience. This includes studying interaction patterns, accessibility, and how users interact with mobile apps across different devices and environments.
