Effective library material management and digital material access are crucial in present-day learning institutions. The Library Management System with eBook Store is the answer to the need for effective library operation and easy digital book access by the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR). This project develops a web application that integrates a library management system for cataloging books, loans management, and user account management, and an eBook store for browsing, purchasing, and downloading e-books. With the use of HTML, CSS, PHP, and JSON, the system has an easy-to-use interface and a robust backend functionality. The library management system offers automated borrowing, return, and inventory management, while the eBook store offers a digital library with secure payment integration. The application aims to improve accessibility, efficiency, and customer satisfaction for students, workers, and librarians and bridge gaps in traditional library services and digital content delivery.
Research Area
Web App Development: Web Development research in Computer Science and Information Technology focuses on the design, creation, and optimization of websites and web applications that are accessible over the internet or private networks. This research area spans a variety of topics, including front-end and back-end development, web frameworks, web performance, user experience (UX) design, security, and emerging web technologies.
Front-end development research explores the design and functionality of the user-facing side of web applications. This involves studying languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as popular frameworks like React, Angular, and Vue.js, which help create dynamic, responsive, and interactive user interfaces. Researchers in this area often focus on improving the accessibility and usability of websites across different devices and browsers.
Back-end development focuses on the server side of web applications, where databases, server logic, and application functionality are managed. Research in this area includes database management, server configuration, APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), and the use of frameworks such as Node.js, Django, and Ruby on Rails. It also involves optimization of server-side processes to handle large-scale traffic, improve load times, and ensure seamless data processing.
Project Main Objective
The main aim of this project is to design a centralized Library Management System that streamlines daily library operations by automating key processes such as user registration, catalog management, borrowing and return tracking, fine control, and real-time sharing of information. The system will be a one-stop-shop platform that facilitates improved communication between staff and users as well as increasing the overall efficiency and service delivery of the library
